Electronic Scrap Management Workshop

Electronics That Meet Your Environmental and Organizational Goals

E-Scrap Presentation: 11.16.2012

When you leave work today, take a few minutes as you exit the building to recognize items that are part of the landscape of your everyday life.

  • computers
  • monitors
  • fax machines, copiers and printers
  • stereo/audio equipment
  • phones (including cell phones)
  • electronics from industrial/ manufacturing

Think about the significant investment your organization has made in those items – and the investment that is made when it is time to upgrade. Now think about what happens to all of the physical material when you no longer need it.

Does your organization have policies in procurement and disposal that address efficiency, cleaner production and more sustainable design?

Is the above part of your organization’s sustainability initiatives?

Please join the Center for Sustainable Business Practices at Cleveland State University, in partnership with the Delta Institute, the Green Electronics Council, the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District and the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability for the City of Cleveland for a morning workshop to learn more about electronic scrap, it’s regional and global impacts and the benefits of integrating this important topic into your organization’s sustainability initiatives.

The workshop will feature steps that can be taken by any organization to responsibly handle and reduce electronic scrap, recycling companies that exist here in Cleveland and case studies of Cleveland area organizations that are already taking action to reduce their electronic waste.

The USEPA Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) provided funding for this project.

Registration is $15, and a light breakfast and parking will be provided.
Corporate Roundtable members attend free!
