Instructor/Facilitator Training (Train the Trainer)
Build confidence in your ability to teach the training skills necessary to develop and deliver information to adults in performing their jobs. Discover how to maximize adult learning principles, analyze training requirements, develop learning objectives, outline training content, select training methods, develop and use training aids, formulate lesson plans, employ basic facilitation skills, handle problem situations, practice, use and evaluate training skills. This training will follow objectives for adult training established by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI).
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify new ways training can be used in their jobs
- Clearly understand how adults learn so they can teach others
- Analyze training requirements—the first step in successful training
- Develop learning objectives that provide the direction for the rest of their training
- Select the most appropriate training methods
- Develop and use training aids the right way
- Create lesson plans
- • Use basic facilitation skills
- Increase participation
- • Conduct training using their lesson plans
- Evaluate training
- Transfer newly acquired training skills to the work setting

Audit option: Students have the option to audit a course they have already attended at no charge within one academic year. Interested students must notify the ProDev office requesting to audit a course a minimum of 10 business days prior to the course start date to ensure there is enough seating. Audit students are responsible for their own parking and lunches. New materials will not be provided.
Corporate, Custom Availability: Can be custom-tailored to the needs of your organization to provide skills your workforce can apply immediately as a corporate training if requested.
No refunds will be issued if notification is not received seven business days prior to the first day of class. Registrants who cancel will receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee, if we receive written notification a minimum of seven business days prior to the first day of class.
