Course Description

In today’s fast-paced organizations, churning out countless emails, letters, reports and documentation is a race against the clock. Meeting a deadline is always the goal, but the critical final steps of editing and proofreading should not be ignored. This discussion-based course allows professionals to polish their editing skills in real-time.

This course prepares professionals to:

  • Revise written communication using the Five Steps system
  • Edit documents at the sentence level to deal with wordiness and redundancy
  • Shape writing at the word level to deal with vocabulary, acronyms and industry jargon
  • Turn passive writing into active writing for higher impact
  • Proofread to minimize mistakes

Who Should Attend

Technical writers and communicators, documentation specialists, project managers, business analysts, librarians, educators and Human Resources and Training professionals would benefit from this course.

Note

This is a required course for the Technical Communication Certificate.

Refund Policy

Registrants who cancel will receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee, if we receive written notification a minimum of seven business days prior to the first day of class. No refunds will be issued if notification is not received seven business days prior to the first day of class.
