User Experience (UX) Design Essentials

Course Description

User Experience is a trending topic in the professional world, especially in the design of systems that interact with people, and for good reason. Focusing on user experience (UX) can differentiate a company from its competitors. In one day, we give you a thorough overview of the user experience field and its many components. You will learn the importance of a user-centered design process and the benefit of incorporating UX activities at every stage of a project.    Students will learn about user-centered design processes and the benefits of involving the user experience discipline every stage of a project.  This course is ideal for people who are beginning to work in user experience or have some knowledge of the field. The course will focus on creating effective, usable designs.

Real-World Application

Today's designers must envision compelling ways to facilitate rich interactive experiences. This course demonstrates the latest tools, techniques, and technologies used by leading agencies to develop world-class user experiences. In addition, students research the human aspects of interactive experiences. Topics include conducting user research, developing user personas and scenarios, information architecture, system and user interface design, prototype creation, and usability testing and analysis.

This course is for beginning web designers who need to create good, usable designs.

Audit option: Students have the option to audit a course they have already attended at no charge within one academic year. Interested students must notify the ProDev office requesting to audit a course a minimum of 10 business days prior to the course start date to ensure there is enough seating. Audit students are responsible for their own parking and lunches. New materials will not be provided.

Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued if notification is not received seven business days prior to the first day of class. Registrants who cancel will receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee, if we receive written notification a minimum of seven business days prior to the first day of class.
