This week, The Professional Development Center had students participate in our Developing Grit and Resiliency course. As I snuck in to grab a few pictures, I got to hear the instructor, Dennis Kowalski, speak about accomplishing goals. He mentioned that having big goals is fine—great even! You should never limit yourself and your potential. However, he also mentioned the importance of having a plan and sticking to it. We cannot wander through life hoping that our greatest hopes and aspirations will just come to us—we need to prepare and actively take steps to achieve that goal. I know this might be a little early, we haven’t even celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but the brief time I spent listening to Dennis got me thinking about my New Year’s resolutions. What am I hoping to achieve in the coming year, and what steps am I taking to get there? I challenge you to do the same—it’s never too early to start planning!
And hey, if one of your goals is to further your career or professional profile, make sure to check out our course catalog!
